To find a way to the hammer in The Magic Chisel in The Journey in God of War use lightning arrows on the two exposed jewels on the giant’s braid. Throw the axe at the third metal ring on the braid and time a lightning arrow to hit the jewel on it:

Jump across to the walkway and follow it. When you get inside a tower pull the rock away from underneath the gate and keep following the path. When you get to the giant hammer shaft push it and time a lightning arrow when the shaft is closest to the ice:

Repeat the process until the ice breaks away. Climb up the hammer:
