The FG 42 rifle in Call of Duty: WW2 is a high damage, slow fire rate rifle. It is best used behind cover from a distance, at least medium range. At close range it is better to switch to an automatic secondary which will be at least somewhat competitive with submachine guns. Always try to stay behind cover to reduce the profile that enemies can shoot at.

FG 42 Best Attachments

The best attachments for the FG 42 are those that help you whilst aiming down the sights of the FG 42. The grip attachment reduces the recoil of the FG 42 making it easier to kill enemies from longer range. The reflex sight helps you see enemies more easily, although I found that the iron sights are pretty good. Full metal jacket increases the penetration of the FG 42 helping you fight enemies behind cover.

FG 42 Best Division

The best division for the FG 42 is infantry as it grants you extra starting ammunition that you will need since the FG 42 does not ship with much ammo.

FG 42 Best Basic Training

The best basic training is lookout which highlights red enemy names from further away letting you spot and kill enemies that you didn’t even know where there.

FG 42 Best Secondary and Equipment

For your secondary pick your favorite gun, preferably automatic, to help you out at close quarters. Use the mk 2 fragmentation grenade to clear out close quarters or attack objectives. Here is the complete best class setup for the FG 42:

If you were to ditch the reflex sight, what would you replace it with? You mentioned it having good iron sights so I am just curious on your opinion.

I have enjoyed your analysis on guns for the older CoDs and always found I do good with classes similar yours.
