Borderlands 2 Guide: Critical Hit Areas for Spiderant, Bullymong, Skag, Stalker, Loader and Thresher
Critical hit damage is much higher, but does require good aim. If you play on the PC you should always be aiming for the critical hit areas as they are pretty easy to hit. Some of the different enemy types have a different critical hit location, but for all the human like enemies, like bandits, rats or midgets, its always a headshot. This guide points out the different critical hit locations for each of the enemy types.
I didn’t find any constructors to take a screenshot of so its not really included in this guide, but at the front it has a type of head with some display on it. The display is the critical hit location of the constructor.
The critical hit locations are the same for most bosses as they are for the class of the boss. So a spiderant boss has the same critical hit location as a spiderant warrior for example.
Spiderant Critical Hit Area
The spiderant is particularly annoying as a lot of its body take less damage. The bit to which the stinger is attached is the critical hit location:
It is pretty hard to get a critical hit on a spider, I found that jumping or strafing helps. Of course if you play as a Siren you can always Phaselock an spiderant to get an easy critical hit.
Bullymong Critical Hit Area
The bullymong’s head is the critical hit area:
Skag Critical hit Area
If you shoot the skag when its mouth is open you get a critical hit. It is fairly rare that they open their mouth. But when a skag is in Phaselock its mouth stands wide open:
Stalker Critical hit Area
The head of a stalker is the critical hit area:
Loader Critical Hit
The loaders hip area is it’s critical hit area:
As an added bonus the stalker will lose its legs if you hit it in the critical hit area.
Update 30.9.2012: This part of the guide is incorrect as someone (they didn’t provide their name) pointed out in the comments below. The critical hit area of loaders is the eye on what would be their left shoulder. However, you can shoot off different limbs by shooting the legs, hip and shoulders of the loader, which is what I was describing in the post.
Thresher Critical Hit Area
The thresher’s eyes are it’s critical hit area:
I found this a pretty useless one since its pretty hard to hit the eyes. But especially if you are facing a boss or one of those threshers that pull you in hitting the eyes is much easier.
