Recently I have been having a little less success in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. I was wondering for quite a while why I was having these difficulties which I didn’t have before. When I started to think about this I realized it was because I had gotten too concerned with gaining the advantage in a gun fight to an extend that I would delay firing the weapon to try and get the upper hand even before the shooting starts.
I have found, however, that this leads to many failures. For instance I avoid shooting when I think the enemy has not seen me and I predict that he is going to walk around the car so that I have a better shot on him. More often then not that ends up with that he actually sees me and uses the car as cover to take me out.
In other situations I often start aiming down the sights before I even start firing. That too leads to many lost gunfights. Trying to gain the advantage by using clever cover techniques and getting the advantage by aiming down the sights first usually gets me killed. So I came to the conclusion that I should always fire the weapon first, then worry about prevision aiming with aiming down the sights and moving into an advantageous position. Because the hit detection and the lagg compensation in modern warfare 3 is not the best for consistency simply spraying at your target so that at least some of the bullets connect is a very good idea and it has worked for me in many cases after I had realized the power of just firing as fast as possible.
